We're Taya and Lucy, two sisters from London and the founders of Nashi Pear Juice. Our story starts in two different places ....

Taya's story

I had just moved to Sydney and was trying to balance everything - making new friends, settling into a new job, keeping up with exercise and exploring an entirely new country. It was magical, but overwhelming. Then my friend Ella mentioned Korean Pear Juice. I laughed and said I was always sceptical of products that promise to change your life....

I was wrong ... it quickly became a must-have for my nights out and I wouldn’t go out without it. In fact, none of us would. Whether it was a weekend away, after-work drinks or going to the footy, we’d always make a point of getting some pear juice beforehand.

Two years later, it was time to move back home. I stuffed my suitcase with as much korean pear juice as it could hold - not to share, but to make the most of my weekends back home. Then one day, I gave some to Lucy. I didn't think much of it until I got a text from her the next day .... 'i feel a million dollars'.

A few weeks later we started talking about it. I’d run out of my stash, and that’s when the idea hit us: let’s bring it to the UK ourselves.

Lucy's story

Last year, I was training for the London Marathon and juggling nights out while trying to stay on track with my training. I was finding this pretty hard, not helped by the fact that, since getting older, I’d been feeling less than fresh after just a couple of drinks.

One evening, after a particularly rough night and a subsequently poor run, Taya handed me some of her pear juice to enjoy before I went out. Its the perfect pre-drink, or so she said...

I woke up feeling surprisingly good - almost like I could take on a marathon right then and there (though realistically, probably not). From that moment, I was hooked, just like Taya.

One night at the pub, we were laughing about how obsessed we’d become with pear juice, and before long, the idea of starting a business selling it didn’t seem so ridiculous. We couldn’t find a reason not to do it… and that’s how it all began.

So here we are - two sisters, a LOT of pear juice, and a dream to share our love for it with the world.
